I'm transplanting a 15B-T (with high mount CT26) into my BJ60, and am keeping the 3Bii's nice accelerator crank, but this routes the cable above the turbocharger heat-shield. I am making a new bracket for it to keep it clear of the heat shield (and crankcase ventilatin hose), so it won't be touching anything hot.

My original cable is in great condition and of course NLA from Toyota, how should I go about protecting it from the heat of the turbo? If I put some tubing over it, the tubing will be loose. How about some kind of wrap?

TIA

I bought some of this stuff just the other day to protect my fuel line. I got the 1/2 inch size but they have several sizes to choose from.

slightly loose heat sleeve tubing should have better insulating qualities then a tight wrap. The air gap helps with heat.

Heat sleeve with metal zip ties or aluminium foil tape. I'd say a throttle cable is ideal for using a tape instead of a sleeve.
