I have a leak on the opposite side of the sping - the cab side of the heat riser is leaking exhaust through the bushing. I need a temp fix to make it through my trip to Solid Axle Summit next week.
If I clean it up, do we think high temp RTV will hold?
Can I weld it with my Miller at home? If so, any suggestions?
Other options are welcome, but I dont think I have time to tear it down and put a plug in it.

I doubt glue will last a heat cycle and stink the whole time. I think the shaft sticks out some. Wrap it with really fine wire and knot it. Later take it apart drill it and install a bushing.

If the shaft and counterweight are still intact, how about cutting a strip of muffler & exhaust leak tape/cloth and wrap the shaft tight, and wedged in there. Maybe some tie wire over that as well.

What version of the exhaust manifold do you have? Later model 3 piece had a plug pressed in to 'seal it'. If you have the space for it, you could swipe that or similar sized plug and high temp rtv and hammer into place.
