I think they are standard on the Canadian LC and LX. I'm not sure, but I think I read this in my owner's manual for our 2000 LX 470. They are not available on US models.
I snaped a few pics of it at the office, I would say almost for sure it was not a modifiatction, the LX was bone stock. Had WA plates, plate frames from a local Toyota dealer on it.
They weren't an option in 04 when my folks bought their new LC because I built and priced out a LX.
I still really don't get the purpose of them unless you live in a really dusty climate, but even then if used while in motion the fluid will only attract more dirt... anyone have a logical explination for their use?
I suspect Canada(if canada required washers), in the late 90's-early 2000's it was very very common for US dealers(mostly American trucks) to buy new rigs in Canada and bring them to the US for sale as new(they were) I think the Canadians made money as did the US dealers, prolly because of the weak CDN dollar. and being this is WA State and the border is not far away its highly possible.
or its just someone who moved down from Canada or the PO moved down from Canada, the dealer plate frames are from my dealers used car lot in another city, so it was no sold new in WA.
Headlight washers are STANDARD on the 05 JDM LC100 while a $120 option on the LC Cygnus (LX470). Yes, you read it right, something that's standard on LC100s but costs extra on the flagship LC!
I checked my Jan 05 LC magazine, which has cover shots of issues dating back to Aug 02. Low and behold, ALL the 100s on the covers including the one from Aug 02 have the headlight washers, so we know they were offered at least on '03 overseas 100s
i go skiing in vt almost every weekend during the winter, and the salt from the road always covers my headlamps, which greatly reduces the amount of light they put out. i have had washers on a previous vehicle and they worked great. anyone know of any place to purchase them to add to my 100?
Get the OEM parts and install it yourself. I believe C-Dan can order non-US Toyota parts as well. Maybe the FSM will show the layout. Do they just plumb into the windshield wiper pump?
EOS, do the headlight washers activate the same time as your windshield washers or is it a separate switch?
