I just discovered this yesterday, I don't know if this is the way things should be or if the PO rigged this up..

when turning on the headlights the first click on the switch gives me both the headlights and 'running lights' I expected only running lights. The second click of the switch does not give me any extra lights that I notice...

Is this the way things are supposed to be on a 93?

If not, where would I look to find the wiring work done to make this happen?

Can someone with a 93+ run out and try it? I'd like to confirm Landtank's suspicion before I spend hours tracing circutry.

In the interior fuse box (left of and below the steering wheel) there was a 20 amp fuse in the 15 amp fuse spot, as well as a wire pushed into the fuse slot that didn't go anywhere. There were two other wires pushed into fuse slots too, also did not lead anywhere.

I hate PO's that do half assed electrical mods.

Hopefully puting the right size fuse will solve the issue. Probobly not though. I should check the engine fuse box next.

I have a 96 LX, first spot gets parking lights, second gets hearlights

My unmolested '93:

First rotated click: All exterior and dash lights except headlamps.
Second click: Adds headlamps.

Just a guess.......PO could of set it up so that the second click (normally headlights) turned on a set of aux lights (that were later removed). Hence the perceived need for a bigger fuse.

Can you contact the PO and ask for any info. May save you a lot of time.

Yeah, I gotta do something. I put in the correct fuse and it still lights up everything on the first click.

The PO left his insurance card in the owners manual, so I might be able to find him using directory service.

Damn PO's!

I spent an hour pulling cell phone wiring out of the cruiser two weekends ago- the guy just cut them and left them hanging, live wires and all.

Oh well, it could be worse.

Hey, how much would a new headlight glass run? I've got a small hole from a rock chip or small caliber weapon. ( It WAS a chicago truck....) Drivers side, if it matters.

Replaced lens/body a few months ago. (1994 LC)

Smart shopper deal.......
Lens and body is about $155, entire assembly is around $200.

Part #'s (IIRC)
Assembly, 81150-60214
Lens&body, 81170-60214
Breeze to install.
