HDJ81 Diffs vs. 80 series diffs (1 Viewer)

Hi there,

Does anyone know if the diffs (and all associated parts) are the same between the 1990 81 series and the 80 series? I need to do some work on them and want to have an idea what I'm in for before I start.

pretty much the same diffs. with or w/o lockers. only difference in that part of the drivetrain are the brakes. bigger on later model 80s vs early model 81s.

As I have found out after change from the hydro assist auto tranny (last before uppdating in -92), to a manual from a -94 is the gear ratio in the diffs.
The automatic got 4.11 and the manual got 3.77 orginal.
I think that is the same on other models too, but different marked got different spesifications..
