I just purchased this 80 in November and now that it’s starting to warm up I’ve found the ac doesn’t blow cold from the vents. The ice box gets very cold to the point frost builds up where the ice cube trays are meant to be placed. I looked under the hood and found the lines frozen at this location in the picture. Has anyone else encountered something similar? My next/first step is an evac & recharge but was just curious if there is a common fix for this.

Freezing where it isn’t supposed to typically means restriction. Mostly likely the filter dryer came apart and has clogged up the metering device in the system.

For anyone who might be curious I found the system was at about half capacity of refrigerant, charged it back up and everything is working now!

Great job! But why was the gas low? Use soapy water to locate..pump front seal? Or maybe frosting area is place of leak.. decompression=frost..

It was charged in 2021 so appears to be a very slow leak, .5kg over 3 years. So I’m not super worried about it at the moment but I did add dye and will keep an eye on it.

What type of freon was in it and what adapters did you use. I have a 92 hdj81 and I'm having a hard time tracking down the correct high side adapter
Its been converted to R134 but I didnt do the conversion so not sure on where the parts were sourced.
