Is there a reason that you go with factory coil springs and shocks set up vs coilovers?

Easier to set up for “multi-use” and cost. That and to just do something different.

A bit of Saturday night welding fun. This took 3-4hrs stitching it and keeping it cool.

Now for some Saturday night grinder work! 😝

Decided to keep with the “bubble” look top to bottom on the corner. Hand built cap for the rocker.

Overall on the corner.

Welding out the “C-pillar” sheet metal right now. Got to let it cool between welds.

Got one hole punched through the frame, sleeved with 3/4” dom and a box bolted up to align it for the remaining three holes.

Definitely going to have to “notch-sleeve” the shock tower for the steering column shaft as well as extend a shaft.

Ya not to stoked on this and rebuilding it but am I surprised with this old 🐷 💩? Nope!

Not too fun to find that, but at least fixing it and fixing it well is in your bag of tricks. You have dealt with worse :)

It’s been really giving me the old school vibes when I stand back and look at the cab straight on. I actually am really digging the “shoulder” we built into it.

I actually love it, especially from certain angles, other angles may take a little longer to grow on me to a love status! 😂🤙

Ya, it is what it is, we may have a good one we can cut out and replace it with vs rebuild. The other side is not nearly as rotten.

The inside of the c-pillar/extra cab area.

I have decided to keep the inner structure, after skinning with the sheet metal, somewhat basic. I originally had grandiose plans of making it look factory inside with the inner structure of the c-pillar. Don’t really want to invest the amount of labor it will take to do that but we won’t be half assing it either. I do plan to take advantage of the wasted space in extra cab area by building some storage panels that can be removed for cleaning, down low in this area. The extra cab window also needs a way to drop out for replacement.

I do plan to fully trim it out inside with more or less custom interior so that will come into play as well and cover most of it up. Long ways out yet on any custom interior work.

Cheers
