Have a couple newbie questions.

Hi Woody, Junk, et all:

I'm relatatively new to the IH8Mud Forrum, have lurked for a few months, finally sign-up last month.

First off, I'm unfamiliar with the "bulletin board" format, having only been on e-mail lists before (i.e. LCML.) A couple of questions:

A) Is there a "spell check" feature when posting a reply?

B) I posted a "WTB" thread, and a couple of folks replied directly to me via the IH8MUD site. How does that work? I would like to send a direct, private e-mail to someone, but don't know their e-mail addy.

C) Silly question - how does one set-up a photo next to their log-in name? Can another IH8MUD user post the photo for me? (Digital camera virgin here!)

no speel check installed, very server intensive unfortunately...a few people opt to type out in MS Word or similar and cut-paste into their replies....me, I just type for hell and figger people wil get it....

if you click on a username and check their profile, there may be an option to email them, but they ALL to thru the 'MUD server, none direct. This is for privacy purposes. Users also have the option to turn off private messages or not allow emails, again for privacy

see your UserCP for the Avatar option....100x100 max size, .jpg or .gif, and 20k max I think.....anyways, quite a few smartiesi n the chitchat corner can help with a resize if you post up the fullsize pic for them to tweak.

Also if you click on the user name you can select to PM or "Private Message", this is message that will go to that person only, the next time they are on Ih8mud.
