Report from this weekend.

The J-Style mounts from West Marine worked great. Road noise was barely noticeable. I mounted them as close to the side as possible. #1 to make it easier to load and #2 because the factory cross bars have the least amount of flex at the edge. It was very sturdy and the kayak didn't bounce like when I hauled them mounted directly to the cross bars. It's a must. Loading and unloading will take a few more tries to get better at lol. I am happy with them. If kayaking turns from a hobby to a passion I'll think about this hullivator thing. But the J style mounts are fine for now.

I was traveling on beat up Louisiana back roads....lots of potholes and top speed limit of 55.

At 60 mph the kayak was solid. Never shifted.

Over 100 lb's of boats on stock racks. Nylon tie-downs to the crossbars and one nylon strap over the boats and inside the rig in case the footings decided to fail. Over 100 miles on mountain roads and highways pushing 75+ with 4 adult males. No problems, good memories, and plenty of laughs.
