Anyone know anything about the Hatfield-McKoy ORV trails in southern West Viriginia? Pretty close to the convergence of VA/WV/KY? Only about 5.5 hours from the Triangle...

what info are you looking for? I haven't' ridden the trails in 12 years (When my job brought me to NC) but prior to that was all over them and even helped get the trail system off the ground, teaching/training select gov officials how to properly operate ATV's and maintain trails, etc....
Those are ATV trails only, but there are literally hundreds of trails in that area outside of the Hatfield-McCoy trail system.
i am going to WV in a couple weeks to visit family and see what the old (non sanctioned) trails are still accessible. as mentioned to date the state's trail system is strictly for ATV's. But the old abandoned, unimproved county roads from yesteryear are still public domain and generally lead to some decent wheeling spots....

OK, I was doing a search and ran across it, didn't realize it was ATV and UTV only. I'm possibly heading through the area and was wondering if it was worth the detour...
when you going? there were lots of nice trails around that were nice. I hope to follow up on a few in a couple weeks to see if they are still around and worth a trip.
