While doing some work last fall on a deck, I got my sweater caught up in my belt sander. Thought it would be an easy fix, but even after completely disassembling the sander I still couldn't get it out. Had to purchase another to finish the job, but will try tonight or tomorrow to cut it out slowly.

Large belt sander pulled in my levi's and some of the fleshy part of my upper leg when I backed it up into me. I remember it was a real bitch to get free. I just repaired an old rockwell that sucked the cord into the rear drum. That was fairly easy to pull the drum out and clear the cord.

errr.... no.... must be a canadian thing...

you two gents might stay away from lathes then! haha

Back in my university days, they had us take a machine shop course at one of the high schools. Someone left the chuck key in the lathe and then started it up.

Yes...that would be sooo dangerous working with a lathe. I'm sure it's much more dangerous than working with beam saws and walking 3 1/2" wide 2x4 plates multi stories high. You are such a stud.

Easy partner, I was merely indicating loose clothing and machines/power tools don't mix in a friendly fashion....so I thought.
Plenty of ways get hurt or killed in life without really recognizing the obvious.
Example of loose clothing and operating a lathe (graphic warning)
Lathe Accident: WARNING NSWE, very graphic - SilencerTalk

I'm no stud..... I am an older man with all my digits and limbs. But thanks anyways bacon
