I was thinking of adding this mod to my 2014 LX570 to increase MPG /HP/ Torque . If you aSK THE SALESMAN he always answers yes if you ask the end user Sometimes your answer will vary. Does it make eco sense to change intake or exhaust or both or are you spending $$$$ for a Diminishing return ????

Please educate me /Us before we make a mistake .

You're gonna have to post up a link, so we will know what you are talking about.

If it really made a difference, I'm sure Mr. Toyoda would have installed it at the factory.

CARID. com has this intake for the LC and the LX570 as a Cold air intake box replacing the factory box intake with internal cone fabric filter like a K&N cone filter using cold air from the passenger side wheel well and optional air inlet at front of the hood

I had this similar setup in a Toyota i had many years ago and I never paid attention to fuel savings but it made my v6 sound a little better.

The air box and filter is not the point of issue. The throttle body is, as is the case with almost every modern spark fired motor.

@4gotalot did some testing a few years ago and went as far as taping off 75% of the stock filter and the 5.7 still had more air than it could use.

Also, as is the case with the internal combustion engine, let’s say you could shove more air into it (without forced induction) you need more fuel to burn it.

Save your money, you won’t see a bit of difference other than your wallet with get slimmer.

Everything T2C said, plus the debate that exists over the efficiency of oiled cotton air filters in removing dirt as well as a stock paper filter. I wouldn't touch one with a 10 foot pole.

Agreed. I think the air filter cartridge on these trucks is so huge is so that it can suck up a LOT of dirt before it starts to effect the engine performance. A large area like that will cause the air velocity through the filter to be very low, so even the finest dirt won't get sucked through.

Simple equation: Q = V * A
