I was on an 4wd site and I got excited when I saw elockers from Eaton. Finally pulled up the product application doc and saw the blank column. I had a TruTrac in a Tundra and loved it. They make good stuff.

Funny, I had the same experience when I was looking a few years ago:)

Most negative comments on Harrop/Eaton seem to come from dealers/shops that sell air lockers.

Just don't get so excited that you buy an early 80 without a full float rear axle. The Harrops don't fit C-clip axles.

Had someone on IH8MUD help me with that. Bought a late 94 with rear disc breaks.

It's a little dirty, but only 94.5k miles.

Barely broken in - contrats!

Yep, they disengage and then re-engage both directions.

The usual reason to reverse while locked is when you are already stuck (mud?) and you need to rock your way out.

Gentle is always a good idea. We have not seen this as a problem.

A final note on the comment about Harrop Eaton ELockerTM disengaging on reverse. It is a mechanical disconnect, not an electrical one. When power is restored to the axle, the re-engagement is automatic. As an Eaton-based product, the video below provides an inside look at the process.
