Hi All,
looking for a wriring diagram for hard wiring a radar detector.
I'm looking for wires in the overhead to tap into, should be wired for on when the car is on but not always hot. I'm sure any negative will do but do looking to identify a red(positive) to tap into.
I don't think map lights or the garage door opener will work, so I'm at an impasse.

this is the wiring kit I have:

found a video, I think this is correct, if anyone can confirm before I start tapping into power.

I believe all the overhead console lights are always "hot", since one can sit in the car without a key and turn on the overhead lights.
You may need to run a wire along the headliner, down the A pillar to get a key/ignition on hot wire.
I have a constant on for my HAM radio and the charging plugs I added to the back of the center console for the middle seat. Did that so I could monitor COM's with the car off, and when we need to charge our phones overnight camping, again with out the car on, since the car times-out and shuts down after about 20 minutes of being on.
