Does anyone have any good links or references for a reproduction fiberglass lid for a 1983 right hand drive troopie. The PO cut into the original top and converted it into a camper and the whole thing needs to be replaced

how bout pics of the camper! That'd be cool.. Sometimes Gozzard or SOR have the fiberglass caps but haven't seen any in a while that are available.

I have one for you but shipping would probably kill the deal! I am on the Central Coast Ca. Jason PM me if interested.

how about using 2- 40 series tops? have a fiberglass guy blend the 2 together at the correct length

Thank you for the comments... I posted some pics above to show how it was cut all around. My other option is to try and have a local fiberglass guy repair it. The little bolts that hold it on are all rusted off so when it comes off that will be an issue to repair as well

easiest to just break the bolts, drill them with a left handed drillbit if possible if not then a nutzert to fix.

Nice looking old girl. The rust in the driprail has always been a problem. There is a fiber glass repairer in town who has a mould to make the driprail out of fiberglass. A roof should.t be to hard to find. Fraight would be the killer from Queensland.Pm me if you need more info. Cheers .

The PO didn't do that, Trakka did. The external latches look like a PO mod. What is the problem with the top--the fiberglass or the metal drip rail? I had a Trakka like that (see it in the 45 series classifieds) and the PO cut up a good top to replace the drip rail. I had to drill all the rivets, fiberglass it properly, fix the metal and reassemble. It was quite a bit of work for never having done fiberglass, but it was certainly doable.

If you just don't want the camper, I bet another troopy owner in the states would be happy to trade you his top for yours.

BTW, how's the rig? A neighbor to the south (in Albuquerque) beat me to that one and imported it. Seems it's been sold a number of times since then (2008, I think). The last owner in AU was a kiwi and a panel beater. He did the body and paint himself, which looks like it's holding up fairly well.
