The windows on my 60 become very hard to roll up/down when it rains for a few days. What should I look at replacing to bring back easier operation and eliminate remarks from the family? I don't mind things to do to help lessen the difficulty but ultimately I want to fix it for good.
Thanks-

I have electric windows on a 1990 FJ62. Not sure wht yours are. I am actually cleaning the front passenger side tracks today. If you search the 60 threads you'll finds lots of good info. Most points to dirty tracks, but there are other things to consider.

I just looked this one up myself, and dirty un-lubed tracks seem to be the culprit. I'm gonna clean mine up and give them a spray and hopefully this works. Search is your friend

I have the same issue. I think its a combination of the window crank needing lubrication and the rubber window "linners" getting old and hard. Spray silicone may help the window tracks...

The windows on my 60 were very hard to roll up. I pulled off the door liner, lubed the winder, and the window run (the rubber guide), and it helped, but not much.

Finally I ordered new window runs from CDan, installed them (lubed the winder again) and they roll up/down really nicely!

take the regulator out and check it out. there are 2 gears that have to mesh right. I had one get wore out and it was cheaper to buy a parts truck than a new regulator. grease everything up well. Once you take everything out it wil be easy to figure out the problem
