Hi all.
I passed the I/M and Insp. however this is the second time I had to retest to pass the CO levels at Idle, Its reading 2.13 and the max is 1.20, The guy took the airfilter out(K&N) and it passed, Could it be the filter? I know alot dont like K&N but are there any other things I should look into? Last year they said I could possibly use a valve adj. ?!?
I could just be worrying about nothing, Seeing how I have another year to figure it out :flipoff2:
Thanks

I'm not exactly sure what contributes to extra carbon-monoxide, but having a K&N filter which has oil in the foam could inject some oil into the air-stream and therefore you would be burning some oil along with the gas. The amount it would inject would be trivial I would think...also a restrictive air filter could force the gas/air mixture a bit too rich, even though the computer is monitoring it, might not monitor that closely, and too rich could increase CO levels I guess (I think too rich typically ups another level though, but can't remember which one it is)...

Their mention of a valve adjustment would be if a valve were to be stuck open slightly, like if the exhaust valve were slightly open all the time, then during the burning of the gas in there some un-burned gas could make it out of the exhaust valve...I would expect it to be burned up in the cat though so who knows...

Good Luck...
