Maybe I'm a bit slow but how would work on a sandblasted frame as a primary coating? Was thinking POR 15 since the frame will be clean but this might be a good option. Also thought about the coating used on my 2005 Chevy Silverado 3500 but I've seen some rusted Chevy frames. My pkup is stored most of the time with 40,000 miles on the clock so it's all pristine condition and maybe not a good reference to use for their coating. Think it's a wax base coating. Sounds similar to the Woolwax you mentioned. Thanks.

No need to remove the coating. Hard-On by woolwax™ can be reapplied directly over the old coating, or it can be top-coated with most urethane, acrylic or alkyd resin formulated automotive topcoats. The formulation has a bit of asphalt in it which gives it the ability to adhere to less than pristine surfaces.
So if I currently have wool wax...the new HO will just go over the old?

Another question. What’s the best way to remove this stuff? Is there a chemical you recommend or does it have to be mechanically removed (sanded, grinded off)?
