hard ditch impact knocked tires off the rims

Hey guys, colorado Elk Hunting got interesting this weekend. No killing but we put the 4 and a half in the ditch!

Under early, Mud/ice conditions and traveling to fast, a couple deep ruts kicked her into a 3' wde by 2'deep hard rock ditch. The vehicle hit hard enough on the driver side to pop those two tires off their rims.

Outdoorsmen are similar to mudders in that we had plenty of help getting back on the road.

Things seem fine but what concerns are there with this type of impact?

PS thank you to Dave of Grand County Automotive: great deals on tires and service, 10% over his cost on any tires (and firearms as he used to own the sporting good store and still maintains his arms license) Also, thanks to new friend Chris Cook of Broomfield, CO who was a lifesaver and sells tasty custom beef and pork)

Possible a bent front axle and/or bent steering components (sector shaft may not be obvious, but should be checked for twisting).

I presume since it sounds like you got the rubber back on that the rim lips on both sides of each wheel involved were checked for damage?

Dave @ GCA was pretty thorough when he remounted
em but I'll have those rim lips double checked.

We didn't air down up there at all so yes, they were at street pressure.
