Bought a set of HF spring compressors. Steer clear of these. They are cast something (dog poop???) not cast steel like the better quality ones. The hook broke off while compressing the front springs on my 4runner. No injuries, but it's just not worth the danger to save a few bucks.

I like harbor freight as much as the next guy, but they need to throw in at least some eye protection with every item that has fast moving parts or will be under a lot of tension.

I avoid horrible freight for the obvious reasons. I'm willing to spend extra $$$ for better quality.

I had a ball joint puller fail on me from HF. The bolt sheared off and went whizzing (literally) past my head. If it had hit me in face I would of been blind. I went looking for the rest of the bolt and found it over 200 feet from my truck...

after a 2 ton come along failed and nearly killed me I shy away from things at hf that have that potential to do bodily harm.

I don't use them, I know what pain is from working with the best tools.Im not working with junk. Mike

there are some things that are great from harbor freight, but some stuff I just avoid, btw Orilies had them for rent, and they are OTC brand usually, give that a try,

I used an autozone loaner set after the HF one broke. It was free!

Very scary!!!!!

I bought spring compressors from Sears which were good quality and not very much more expensive IIRC.
