I am planning to drive to Hanna's shop to pickup a set of sliders.
I am willing to pickup as many sets as will fit in the Cruiser if anyone else wants in on the deal.

Ken has agreed to drop $25 off the price and pay the tax for us; plus you'll save on shipping! :)

The catch is, he is out of stock. 6 - 8 weeks before completion and he needs a deposit of at least 50% for each set to begin production.

Anyone want to join in?

Slomo is down for a set (actually, it was his idea).

Post up if you are interested and I will work out the details with Ken.

Soon to be slidin',

Boyd

I am very interested. I had decided on some custom weld on sliders this week but this makes me reconsider. What is our out the door price for these for this deal?

Smit

The list price for the sliders (95-97) is $835 + tax + S/H.

For us Ken quoted $810 out the door. The biggest savings will be on shipping, since I will be picking them up. I haven't gotten quotes for shipping, but thes sliders are large and heavy. My gut feeling is $50 to $100.

Here is the link to Hanna's site.

Boyd,

I think I am in. I have an 80 w/ no back seats so if we need an extra transport rig I can do it. It would be cool to have a group sliderfest install.

Smit

While I already have mine :flipoff2: you are certainly welcome to look at an installed pair if need be. Only 'tricky' parts Ken mentioned when doing mine were the need to support the transfer case as bolts are used from it and that the rearmost u-bolt, in addition to needing the brake line ever so gently pryed away from the frame rail, went in at a tricky angle.

Have fun. They are an excellent product.

I'm in...6 to 8 weeks is fine for me, I'm not in a hurry. So $405 deposit? Just let me know when and how. Thanks!

Rich
P.S. Mine is a '94.

I can help too; I installed mine and then documented the installation in OFF-ROAD Magazine, PROJECT 80 July issue, on newsstands now. God, I need to work on my shameless plugs better.

Is this the one you plugged a couple of weeks ago with Project 80? Best (for us anyway) of the mag's you publish? Opportunity for another shameless plug I'm giving you here. hehehe

I just picked mine up last saturday and installed them on sunday, very very nice work he does! fit and finish are second to none!

Boyd,
Should we be looking to send a deposit to Ken directly or through you?

Rich

Yeah Boyd, Who gets the dough? Let me know, where it should go... Ok I will stop now.

Secondly, I agree with Smitty. We should have a slider install party so those who have more experience can help those that don't. Besides it is a good excuse to get together and bench blab over a few  's. I suppose we could just read Tare's article covering the install of the Hanna sliders on Project 80 in the July issue of Off Road magazine. Another shameless plug. :D Could even be an official So Cal 80's meeting?

Update

 I have been unable to make contact with Ken. I am still trying and I will let you all know as soon as I do.

Boyd

P.S. Don't let go, this will happen!

Ken is a firefighter during the week and works crazy hours, the fab thing is his second job.

They are worth the wait!

Took the words right out of my mouth. :D

Boyd,
I sent my $$$ deposit in to Ken...I suspect it should have shown up by now. Drop a post if he contacts you on status. Thanks.

I'm up for a slider installfest when the time comes. By the way, next month So Cal TLCA will be going out to Soggy Dry Lake in the Johnson OHV area. It's a good area to wheel at all levels (including the Hammer trails).

Just for clarification - are we suppose to contact or send the deposit to Ken Hanna individually and mention the group buy?

How many in our group has sent their deposit already?

We have four people in so far, deposits all sent.

I would think you could still add one in, but you should contact Ken to confirm that he can build another set in about the same time. I found e-mail to be the best - ken@hannaquality.com.

Completion was estimated to be mid May and I won't be able to pick them up much later than that due to other commitments.

Good luck,

Boyd

Just emailed Ken. Thanks.

Boyd,

Sorry, I don't know if I mentioned it or not but I sent in the payment and Ken emailed me he has it, so good to go. Sound like you are already up to date. If the time of completion on the sliders interferes with your time frame I might be able to go get them. I will wait and see.

Thanks again,
Mo
