That's one of the cleanest LX470s I've seen--good catch. Come out and wrench with us, we've all been in the doghouse over trucks. We'll share some tips on how to get out, that's starting to sound like a new thread.

Easy way to get out....Waffle House is rolling out candlelit dinners in Alabama maybe they will do it is SC too?

Piece of cake, just get the parts

-I need to drop the driveshafts and grease the splines (was going to try to use the zirc to grease, but with 260k miles, i'm assuming it's pretty clogged up. I also want to have some experience dropping the driveshafts in case i lose a diff and need to go 2WD)

-Also thought about replacing the U-joints when i drop the shaft, assuming this is a regular PM item

-Need to change the front and rear diff oil (seems straight forward, but i've heard you can overfill them so if someone has experience here, it would be much appreciated)

-Brake master cylinder is leaking. I've replaced it once, but must have botched the process. Not sure exactly what happened. Master cylinder bore looked perfect when i took it apart, i must have un-seated an o-ring when i put the new cylinder in.

-Need to grease my CVs. Boot clamp came loose and threw grease all over the control arm. I replaced the clamp, but may have lost a significant amount of grease.

I know this is a long list, any one of the items above would be great. The rest are on my to-do list.

All doable. You have the parts?

My tire carrier was/is frozen solid. We tried prying it, pb blasting it, etc. but couldn't budge it. Ended up torching the old u-bolts off when we did the OME suspension swap last year. Unfortunately the old spare is still there....still won't budge. My new spare 33" works fine in my trunk, but again, we could tackle this if no one else has anything more pressing.....

Sounds like someone * cough @mmacpherson cough * needs a tire carrier :)

I think I'm not going to make this HAMOM. The wife "reminded me" that her dad / step-mom will be in town that weekend. Apparently telling her that the baby could entertain her dad wasn't the right response.

Actually, what are your plans? That thing was frozen solid! Do you have a replacement carrier or are we going to try breaking it loose again? I think in the process of trying to get it off, we broke the rods on your tire removal kit.

I ordered the Master Cylinder Rebuild kit this week, it should be here by next week.

I can grab the differential gear oil at any parts store. Any recommendations on what brand to use?

The U-joints on the axels will cost me $300 for all 4. I've decided to inspect mine before replacing.

So I'd be looking to:
-Change front and rear diff oil
-remove and Grease axels
-replace brake master cylinder

If there's a lot on the agenda, we can just do the master cylinder as that's a priority.

@dbenke When we took a look at my cruiser, i think you said i needed to replace front u-joint in the rear and the pinion seals. Anyone have a good place to get these or can i just go to any auto shop?

I will be taking my daughter to try out at The School of the arts that day while my wife will be at her friends wedding.

Cameron, we can diagnose it first if you would like before buying parts.

@collk22 and @CharlestonG8R - Not going to lie - I have no plan. That's why the old spare is still hanging under there. :) Thought I could start by deflating/cutting the spare tire off the wheel to get a bit more room to work with, but other than that, I'm just hoping something pops loose! In my research on mud I came across a couple folks who unbolted that entire cross-member and took it off the frame so they could access the frozen chain-mechanism from the top, so that should work as a worst-case scenario. (Was hoping not to go that route if I didn't have to though!) I have a feeling I'll just stick to piddling with the small stuff (changing oil/rotating tires/etc.) this weekend if no one else needs a hand with anything first....

Looking forward to meeting everyone tomorrow at trucks and coffee. 7:45 am right? Also, what should i bring for the HAMOM? Any tools needed? I have a craftsman 155 piece mechanics set i'll throw in the truck just in case. I'll also have the parts I need and a cooler of beer. Anything else?

I will be arriving early, around 7:30 probably....look for the FJC. (bringing Michelles dad Steve i think) I'm not sure how long I/we can stay for the HAMOM since we have the Super Bowl Party on Sunday. Got to get a few things finished around the house and what not. Hope to discuss any club business before my departure.

I'm in need of a pole saw if anyone has one they're willing to lend. I just have a couple of limbs to trim and can return it Sunday or Monday. Thanks.

I'll be there 7:30-7:45, with TEQ cups!!!

@Eliot , I have the tools needed, but bring what you wish.
@Beau Diddly , I have a manual pole saw you can borrow.

Everyone, please park out on the street, The field is too wet to drive on

Manual is fine, thank you.

Did you say wheelin' at the Benke place? We could get some cool "in action" muddin' pics.
