I'd like to host a HAMOM next Saturday, April 12th. I've been wanting to do this for a while but something always comes up... I finally ready to pull the trigger.

Projects I could use help with:

- Installing trim packers up front to level the stance on my 80.
- Sanding and prepping the truck for liner and touching up some rust spots.

I'm not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination but I think I've got all the tools I need except for a floor jack. For the sanding, I just need a boost of confidence and tips on technique from folks who've done it before I start tearing into my beautiful Antique Sage paint.

I've got lots of space if people people want to wrench on their rigs. I'll cook up burgers and dogs at some point in the day. Kids and dogs are more than welcome.

We live on the outskirts of Creedmoor, North of Raleigh. If you can make it just reply to the thread and I'll PM you the address.

I can't make it out there on the 12th, that's when Mike Angstreich will be in town.

Let me talk to him and nail down a plan. It may work out that we're doing stuff down at my house, so we can do a HAMOM down here, if you're willing to drive.

Unfortunately I've only got 10'x20' of concrete :hillbilly:

I might be able to swing into town. My :princess: likes having me available to wrangle kids, though. I think the next weekend is a holiday but that weekend would work for me too. If that works for you and others than I'd prefer to put it off until the 19th.

I'll be at the State Spring FB Game. Sorry man, and good luck. JC, how long is Cowboy Butts in town?

 R

@mtweller , not sure how long he'll be in town. Need to talk with him to nail down the timeline.

How about the weekend of the 26th? Let me know if that works. I can still come into town this Saturday but I'd love to have the club out to the house and return some of the hospitality we've been shown. Also, I'm sure Mike doesn't want to come all the way out here just to wrench on other people's cruisers!
;)

Just a bit far for me Mike, have a good time :)

I have a wedding that weekend, so I need to check the schedule.

I'm sorry Mike, any other weekend I'd have been able to help, but I've been planning this weekend for my Dana 60 swap for a couple of months.

Have you picked a different date?

Sorry it's taken so long to get back on this... now that baseball season has started we've been swamped. Okay, the only date I can do in the foreseeable future is Saturday May 24th. If anybody can make it that would be awesome!

I've got a wedding that weekend, lol. Can anyone else make it?

I am free May 24th (for now).

mike, if it helps, and you want to, you could swing by my house one day/evening, it wouldn't take very long to install the spacers (45-75 minutes max). I might be able to do 5/24, but wont know till that week.

Man, notifications are behaving strangely since the changes! It's hit or miss nowadays....

Eric, I appreciate that and may just take you up on the offer. I'll reach out to you through mail to try and schedule something.

Jonathan (and the rest of the club) I'll leave the 24th as a tentative date but I have a way forward with the spacers. As for the sanding, I think I know what to do... it's just a matter of taking the plunge. I'll update the thread once it's all final.

Thanks,
Mike

Well, my last attempt at a HAMOM was a fail. Eric (Fourtrax) graciously tried to help me install my spring spacers but I only had left front/rear to correct the Cruiser lean, not 2x front spacers.

At any rate, I didn't have enough work to justify a full-blown HAMOM... but now I do! I've got the following exciting projects to complete:

- Leaky inner axle seal in my front left knuckle. Needs to be replaced and knuckle repacked. I do not have a 54mm socket.

- I ordered the 30mm front spring spacers from Man-a-fre. I also still have the OME left front/rear 10mm spacers. I figure between the four of them I can correct all my leanings (except socio-political).

- Threw down on several cans of plastidip. I'm finally going to cover my unsightly holes even if it's not permanent. I intend to sand the part to be covered and spray it with a Rustoleum primer first. I want to do fenders, tail gate, grill and all the faux-chrome front trim.

- Also on order are interior LED kits for both the 80 and 100. This is an easy one but figured I'd still list it.

Anybody interested in this? Maybe I can just horn in on one of Shasta's weekly HAMOM's? :flipoff2:

I'm down to help -- and I need to schedule next round for my axle and calipers.
Saturdays are pretty much taken now that soccer season has started; but Sundays are pretty open.

if your going to replace the inner axle seal you may as well do a complete rebuild as you have already done all the work for it.
