Hammerhead 150 go kart

I am giving a pretty sweet hammerhead 150 go kart to my sons for Christmas. The speedometer doesn’t work however. I have an owners manual and have searched the internet high and low for a solution. Any advice on where to start looking? It’s a digital speedometer and all wiring connections look intact best I can tell. I haven’t checked any sort of multimeter reading though. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Thanks for this. I forgot about this thread! I swapped out the speedo with a new one and it’s online.

I also figured out how to adjust the idling speed to allow for easier shifting from F-N-R for them. That’s a plus.
