Hammers 012.webp It seems that this is the way you wheel at the Hammers, or at least the way Eric always does.

Hammers 008.webp Nick's '83 was straight when we got here, but after, the only thing he can say is that he still has his windshield. Not one untouched panel.

Hammers 014.webp Here's a first (or at least for me) Andy broke the passenger side knuckle upper trunnion bearing shaft off the high steer arm so the knuckle basically fell off.

It was a good trip (long drive) it was my first time down. We just finished unloading and having some liquid refreshment about 4:30pm when we were asked if we would run a drive-line up to Larry (Yodaman) who was broke half way up some trail so since we were jacked up to wheeling - YOU BET.
We loaded up and headed out across the desert so being the new guy I asked Eric what trail we were headed to? He turned and looked at me thru his ski mask as the sun was disappearing and sand was flying off the tires- The Outer Limits Trail.
Well looks like were doing a night run on one of the better trails here, what a start!!. We got to Larry with the driveline but as it happens it had the wrong flanges but we were able to get 2 bolts in it and a pocket full of spears to at lease get moving. Clayton tagged along with us up there in his Jeep and not long after we got going he riped his motor mount off the frame, not good, so after some pounding and some welding we were rolling again.

Back at camp the wind was blowing some and cooling off. I was sleeping in a tent as the boys all had there RV's to sleep in. Eric did offer his couch if it got to cold to sleep on. The nights got down to about 28deg and the days were about 52deg.
I can't really think of any bonehead stunts, all was good, great trails, I didn't get to see all the trails nor can I remember the names of all the ones we did- Jackhammer, Outerlimits, Wrecking ball, Catwalk. One thing, they grow the rocks big down there.

Tim

ya, I see the spacer there too... spacers = bad vhamen.

Now you understand why I think going to the hammers and returning home with no breakage is worth cheering about.
