Noon Net

Every day there is a noon net on

147.15, + offset, and 123.0 PL tone

or

147.03, also a + offset, and 123.0 PL tone

My Yaesu VX7-R automatically sets the offset and PL tone, I'm listening there almost every day lately. Just getting a feel for what the normal protocol and etiquette is.

Thanks for the info, I'm still working the bugs out of my antenna setup but I will give 147.300 a shot. What is your call sign?

I have a feeling it's embedded in that m code at the bottom of his sig line ;)

The Morse code in my sig reads "Send Lawyers Gubs and Money." MORSE TRANSLATOR

:idea:embedding my call sign is a good idea.

Yeah, I got the VX7-R in black. Pretty nice unit, I also got a mag mount mobile antenna and a speaker mic. It works out pretty well switching from rig to rig. It's also nice on the trail since you can swap out the Rubber duck antenna and wonder around. I didn't think about it until to late but it would have worked great for spotting today on Strawberry. It's a little weak trying to hit repeaters, only 5W. But on the trail I had it set to 0.3 W most of the time and that was plenty. It was a lot clearer than Keiths CB and had better range.
