you both have nice looking installs...

I've been running the TM-D710A for over a year. Having the APRS info on the screen is nice when traveling with others with APRS.

Here's a photo of my install TM-D710A and TS-480SAT

Wow, really nice. I am looking at doing simular with a Yaesu 8900. One question is can I monitor CB bands with this as most of my friends have CB's. I know about transmitting rules but to monitor would be great. let me know if you can help.

No; CB is AM and about 11M in wavelength, and the Yaesu 8900 (a nice radio BTW) is FM and doesn't cover CB anyway. You'll need to get a CB radio for trail runs with your unenlightened friends, or convert them to the superiority of amateur radio. :)

Thanks for the tip and the thumbs up on the 8900. My friends are slow learners.
Much appreciated.
