Any info on using an amp to boost handheld output to 50 or more watts? Since my mobile is kaput, I'm thinking about an amp for my ht's so I can just plug and play in different cars.

Anyone use one?

Thanks for the link, that looks good. Have you had it long? I assume it is 12v, but it does not indicate the power input.

No, it does not indicate output. U can use a bird wattmeter in line to check same. I've had mine for at least 6 years.
