Carolina Beach placing several restrictions on Freeman Park passes, no more day passes offered
Erosion and high tides have led to the town placing several restrictions on visiting Freeman Park.

I was there a few weeks ago and it was 1 vehicle wide to get to the end. Big mess with people stuck trying to get by. I've seen pictures where it washes up to the dune at high tide now in that spot.

Hopefully they'll get some sand there and open it back up. I'm not holding my breath.

I hope most of the folks that go to freeman park don’t end up heading to fort fisher.

Fort fisher is by far one of the nicest drive on beaches anywhere in the east coast. We need to hope that it stays that way and it doesn’t turn into the clown show like at freeman

That would suck big time, yessir. I have been to Freeman for a few events and demos over the years, and leave right after. It’s a dangerous looking and behaving crowd. And alcohol could be the fuel of their “bravery”. Lots of transmissions blown in the sand.

We were out at ft Fisher today and I think that was the case talked to one of the rangers and he said they they have been flooding in today had a bit of craziness maybe not the clown show it sounds like but quite a bit of cool guy revving and tire spinning.

Ahh, we're going to be down there most of this week! Usually getting out there early is best, and we're ready to head out by the time most of the weekend warriors and tourists come out.

Been going there for years and they ABSOLUTELY DO enforce the no alcohol rules. Beautiful beach and drive along with some awesome fishing. No sand for the north end because it is too close to the jetty. Significantly softer sand and more difficult driving conditions on the south end may deter some but stupid people seem to conquer all....

Sadly this will continue to happen until there is only Pay for play parks left in NC.
