My brain is absolutely swimming from going through pages and pages of fabulous info but I have realized I may just need to ask this question for the final decision.

2008 GX470 without a lift. Would like to go with BFG AT KO2s or Wildpeak ATs on TRD Pro SEMA rims.

Can I fit 275/70R17 without extensive rubbing (no major off road action) or do I need to stick with the 265/70R17?

With a 265/70R17 you will probably have some minor rubbing at the front of the inner plastic fencer liner and at the mudflap behind the tire. Both can be easily fixed with a heat gun and some minor trimming (< 1 hour of work). The rubbing is more of an annoyance as it's just tire on plastic. It should not cause any issues off road either.

I think a 275/70R17 will rub worse and will advise against that combo without a lift. The 265 looks pretty "stuffed" in the front fenderwell without a lift. IMO, stick with the 265.

Thanks so much!

My 265/65/17s (stock sized) Duratracs rubbed on TRD wheels even with a 1.5" front lift. It was just hitting the front plastics, but rubbed none-the-less. Did not expect that.

Went with the BFG AT KO2s 265/70r17 and very happy with them!
Now noodling on what to do next. :)
