2004 GX470 left the wife stranded today. Here is what I experienced and maybe someone can chime in...

When I arrived at the car there was no accessory power at all. Locks/Seats/radio/Dash lights etc would not work even with the key at the on position. I disconnected the battery for a couple minutes to let everything reset. After this the car regained accessory power with the key in the ignition at the on position. However when I turned the key to start everything shut off immediately. The starter did not kick on and the car again lost all accessory power.

Eventually after disconnecting and reconnecting the battery for a third time the car started up. I was able to drive it home and have tried to recreate the problem in the drive way to no avail.

This does not appear to be an issue with the immobilizer as the red light disappears once the key is inserted. Hoping this is not the start of electrical gremlins and maybe a bad relay or something simple. Any thoughts are appreciated.

X2 on battery terminals. Could also be a loose battery post inside the battery - had this happen once. Try cleaning all battery terminals, and then wiggling the terminal and battery posts in every direction to see if they move (at all). They should be rock solid.

Are you still having this issue? My 2004 GX470 is starting to do the exact same thing.

Buy a battery terminal brush, clean the terminals and the clamps, and properly/snugly reinstall. If you haven't done that yet it's the first thing to try.

Any more info on this? What happened and did you fix it?
I’m having the same issue. Just replace the alternator as a test showed it bad. Charging the battery now 🙏🏽🤞🏽

Check all your ground connections. A bad ground can cause all types of odd symptoms.
