Gx470 headliner drop/take down? (1 Viewer)

So I was trying to remove my Ironman rack to redo it and properly seal it with some 3m 5200 and in the process the stupid ****ing bolt threads dropped down in a couple places. You can see here as well. So I've learned I gotta drop the liner to find them and reposition them. Anyone have a good guide or video?

You could try installing some nut inserts instead of dropping the headliner down

I have the factory service manual. It basically says you remove all of the interior bits to get the headliner down. All of the interior side panels. Big job. I did it to sound deaden. I am not home, so I can't refer to it until the end of the month.

I had an issue with the sunroof not being able to close in my son's 03 a few years back. I had no manual to drop the head liner. Just started at the front with the visors and worked my way back removing everything. It's pretty obvious what you need to remove once you get started. If you're gonna drop the whole thing just be prepared for a long day. It's more than you think. But I have seen others do exactly what you did and were able to just remove the fasteners from part of the headliner and were able to get a hand in there. Just got to be careful not to crease it. Maybe get someone with small hands to help. Good luck.
