Well it's been quite some time since I've been on ih8MUD after selling my LX450 about 6 years ago but with the growing family and our daily needs we found ourselves back in the market for a new family hauler... We found a lower mileage 2018 GX460 and I can say it's definitely good to be back and apart of the community again!

Down to the nitty-gritty: The Passenger front seat back has some minor tears and punctures.

The Lexus advisor gave me the number for a local leather repairer that I will be reaching out to come Monday but wonder if anyone has ever repaired this part or had it replaced? Does anyone know the part number or general procedures for replacement for this part?

including some photos for reference.

Thanks in advance!

Part is going to be called "Seat Back Cover" and prices ranges $430-$775 for just the covering.

The frame under the cover just called "Seat Back Frame" is around $650-$700 depending on vented seats and whether on had factory rear entertainment.

Thank you Acrad for the info and the club Lexus link! It does not have the factory rear entertainment but does have the heated and ventilated seats though. Appreciate you looking for that P/N and I think you may be right- may be able to find a whole wrecker seat if its more cost effective pending pricing.

I would hope leather shop they recommend could work it to hide better. I would think someone with experience could. I remember trying to repair a hole 20 years ago with a wal mart leather kit.....I was a teenager and needed to hid a hole from my parents.

I just picked up an 18 last Saturday also. Great vehicles. I keep finding errands to run so I can get out and drive
I looked at around a dozen 18s trying to find the best one for me. I found the right one but didn’t notice until the next day after buying I had missed it was missing the seat heat option like most have... O well I’m still happy.
Lots of them out there coming in from leases in perfect shape with low miles. But crazy what people do to them in 2 years. I have a fj cruiser from 07 in better shape than some I saw.

I did download a phone app Lexus has out there and It pulled up all the maintaince done on the vehicle at the dealers. I was able to really dig into about a dozen vehicles I was comparing to buy since people who lease them have the maintaince done at a dealer.

Congrats on your new Lexus. post a pic

Congrats on your 18 as well! Yeah there were a few out there we saw that were less than stellar condition for what most of the dealers were asking $$$. Thankfully we had friend tip us off on this one being traded in before it was even posted online haha. I gotta wait till later to post some pics.
