nov 18th is the start of rifle season. It's muzzleloading now. I think it's always the 3rd week in nov sometimes that coincides with thanksgiving sometimes it doesn't depending on the calendar.

Sure, the woods will be pretty full. A lot of hunters come in early to get the best campsites.
Saturdays are obviously the biggest hunting days, Sundays are rest days.

I figure some people will be camping on friday night and saturday night. Running water is available, but no electricity. The water comes from a spring, so it should be clean, but I usually prefer to drink beer, just in case there is any problems with drinking the water :griinpimp:

On saturday, I would suggest that we meet up at either McDorman's (that is the gas station out on the way to the forest on the left hand side of 33 that only has a few pumps...and has an air hose (The address is 10443 Rawley Pike, Hinton VA 22831) - say meet there at 9
The downfall of meeting in the gas station in harrisonburg (or where the food lion used to be) is that the trip involves back tracking for those staying out at my cabin.

Salt Shed is in the George Washington National Forest about 10 miles west of Harrisonburg off of Rt. 33.
Take a look at BK's map, salt shed is of rt 33 on your left around dry run rd. you can see lots of turnoffs as you approach the bottom of the mountain.
well looks like im not gonna be able to make it after all. My trans started sliping in the 62 lastnight. I need to pick a bunch of trans fluid up drop the pan clean the filter and see if i fix the problem.
Disconected the trans line from the trans cooler i have installed and barely got a trickle out of it . just hopeing i didnt fudge the trans.

hopefully by friday i can get the money needed for the trip and my trans fluid . after letting the truck sit awhile beating on the trans pan alittle . it drives fine. im hopeing once i clean the filter and do a fluid change it be alright.

my guess is that the water will be down enough to make it fun - right now, it is really fun (not to the dangerous stage)
