Had 95% of my tools stored in a storage building at a former neighbor's house. House was rented to some low-lifes by the owner's out of state kids (owner died in a rafting accident, body never found, long story). Renters got evicted for non payment of rent. Went to collect my stuff and it's all gone. Two Craftsman tool chests full of tools, 3 ton floor jack, 200 ft-lb torque wrench, jack stands, various power tools, not to mention all my camping stuff, chainsaw, books, momentos, spare parts, etc. Maybe it's time to leave the Land of Entrapment.

Greg, sorry to hear about that. That's the sort of stuff you build a collection over the years, and don't even want to think about how much it would cost to replace. Any chance of an insurance claim?

Probably not - I have only renter's insurance, and according to my agent since the stuff wasn't stored at my place I'm SOL. And yes, it was a collection gathered over 25 years or more.

Man, this is s*** indeed greg. I still have your hoist and engine stand at my house. No burglers here. Im happy to store other peoples stuff too. Plenty of room.

Major bummer! Sorry to hear about this. :(

This just happened to my neighbor as well. Only the guy was there and beat on him a little for good measure, Time to leave the Land of Entrapment? Where isn't it like this?

Really sorry about the theft of your stuff, man.

I'm just playing curmudgeon here. Of course the theft could have happened anywhere, but NM has not been kind to me the last few years (divorce, job loss, stunted professional development). And a really windy spring day can make the place seem pretty miserable.
