We hiked down RR (that's a bitch if anyone doesn't know) and found the group about 150 yards from the bottom.
This was about where they were when we found them.
At that point The line was still a few deep. Ted was leading, Rocky behind, Sid and a few more were in line. It was at about this point I peeled off to run Erin to meet her sister and then made my way back. When I got back Ted was the only one still at it. Everyone else had either taken the bypass back down or called it all together. I made my way back down the hill and found Ted, Steve and Ben a couple hundred yards above where I left them.
For those who don't know this is part of Rattle Rock.
This is looking up one of the last climbs. There is another section above this and about 2/3 below this. Did I mention I went up and down that hill more than twice that day....
There was a considerable amount of this (only one I will post for now)
If you can see Steve's face, it pretty much sums it up.
And the victory stance.
I don't know much about the more difficult sections of the park, but this has to be one of the most difficult runs. The rain the day before perfectly placed nice puddles at just the wrong places. The rocks are the size of the trucks and placed terribly. The 90°+ turns laced with massive boulders and slabs make turning a practice in digging the two ends around to get in line.
There was quite a crowd gathered at the top which tells you seeing someone come out it doesn't happen often. Poor Steve about killed himself, Ben and Rocky probably have poison oak up to their elbows, but he made it and I must say I had a blast watching it all unfold.
I will try to get my videos up on YouTube tomorrow.
Next year we will see what the 80 has after I get to throw some parts at it this summer

, maybe we can make the bypass at least...
