Evening all,
Do you normally plan meals together on your trail rides? In the past, I have been with groups where we did it a couple of different ways. One way is to take turns. One person (or team) will cook & serve up their 'specialty' for all, then some one else will handle the next meal. An other way that I have seen it done is we all bring our specialties/favorites to a meal or two where we serve up everyone's creations like a buffet.

This odd for me to bring up because I am not a good cook and have no specialties to brag about, but I have always enjoyed this kind of team dining in Cruiser gatherings because it provides an additional opportunity to get to know one another.

Good idea or a bad one?

Good Idea.....the wife & I will bring lasagna for one night.

Usuall the guys with the campers do most of the cooking. Here is what we have planned so far:
Friday night- I have a gas grill on my trailer, so you all bring something to grill and I will fix a side dish.
Saturday- morning -I'll do biscuits and gravy and coffee. Evening- I'll cook up a large pot of chile (Clutchee I need 3 pounds of vension burger, have not had time to hunt this year)
Sunday morning-Clutchee and I will do breakfast burrittos Evening Ashly's lassagna
Monday moring-what ever is left over.
If anyone has a special dish they want to add let us know.

It looks like everything is already spoken for by accomplished chefs. Melissa and I have a cabin ~8 miles away on Stinking Creek Road. Are there any additional dining options that you left off due to grill cooking or other camping/camper considerations, but we could fill having a cabin?

The Campgropund we are staying at is on Stinking Creek Rd., did you rent one of the cabins at the campground? I think we have all the cooking arrangements covered.

Thanks

No it is a few miles down the road. It is part of my research for May (if it is determined that venue relocation is required). I wanted to stay in one of the cabins to see if it is a cabin that would pass inspection for a stay of a week. The cabins 'onsite' were already given a thumbs down by Mike & Cindy based on the web pictures & description, so I expanded by search/research.

Impressive. Everyone seems well organized. I'm typically used to a day long ride with only beef jerky, manifold burritos, and assorted shaken canned/bottled beverages in an Igloo cooler for sustenance. If we (Shawn TNFJ40 and myself) stay the night, we'll be contribute to the dinner.

Jan 18-21, 2008. Royal Blue Wildlife Management Area. 1 exit past the Caryville/Lafollete exit on I-75 North.

I'll bring some cornbread muffins for the chili on sat. and some hashbrown casserole for sunday a.m. complements of the :princess:
will we eat lunch on the trail or return to the campsite?

I usually pack a lunch, looking at the map of the area we probably will not make it back to camp midday.
