I think they are pretty difficult. I have seen a 80 do easy street and a stock toyota pick up do easy street as well.

Currently working on another moderate run.

I think you may have "easy street" confused with another trail. Easy street is probably harder than the bunghole, and have not seen anyone get through it that wasnt a tube buggy. That being said, there are def trails in there an 80 can do..if you dont mind some dings n scratches.

I am on the fence about going this weekend. My transfer case mount is in the mail.. so if it gets here in time and my transmission isnt broken as well im in.:)

I have seen a pickup run easy street and I have seen a YJ run it too, both with a fair bit of winching. Neither was close to stock and they were caged, but they were leaf suspensions and weren't buggies. I would be surprised if you could physically fit an 80 through even with total disregard for the body.

What's the main loop that runs along the perimeter of the property?
I was under the impression that was Easy St.?
Barton ran his 80 through a trail or two at Gretchen's. Maybe he'll chime in.

The stock pick up I saw run the perimeter at Gretchen's was at an NEA trail cut that I thought you were at Brenden along with Nate?

yeah with a winch any trail is passable imo. I just think of those boulders at the end of easy st. and the climb that scares me just walking up it are buggy territory.

Martin will you have stickies on ur zuk this weekend?

Not sure if the perimeter loop has a name or not. Definitly fun tho! Yes Nate, I think martin and myself were at the trail cut when the stock(+welded rear dif) did the loop.

Chris? Have you tried this? LoL

Is anyone camping over Thursday night? I can only wheel on Friday since I have another commitment on Sat/Sun and can't even stay over Fri night.

Is anyone planning on getting there Friday morning? If so, are you planning on doing Gretchen's or something else?

There's a very good map at the NEA site. Looks like the name of the perimeter trail is Russ' Ridge.
Easy street is kinda in the middle of the property and isn't very long.

Would rather keep the camping to Fri. night since those are the dates we have reserved with Gretchen and the NEA.
Gate will most likely be locked anyways.

Jonathan and I are putting together a Moderate run for Saturday morning.

I just tried to look at the map but couldn't. I'm not a member..yet. Does it label all trails with level of difficulty? Could you share a pic or is that not alowd on an open forum?? I am just being a skirt thinking about my straight body panels and nice paint. Its always hard to do the first dent. I have done some mild mountain bike trail runs bushwacking trees...but it buffed out. lol.

The map won't help you judge the difficulty of the trails, but if you would like I can email you a copy.
Sometimes what the NEA judges to be easy isn't so easy with a full sized rig.

Just do the moderate trail with us on Saturday and we can get back early enough to take a look at what goes on behind Gretchen's.....

My advice is take your mud flaps off before you go wheeling or you will end up ripping them off. Other than that just take it slow and easy. No ones gonna make you trash your truck. So don't worry. If you are unsure of something ask for a spot or don't do it.

Ya, we are definitely not about watching someones truck get destroyed.

It's important to note though that taking your truck out for a trail ride there is always a chance of damage...

Thanks. I will take you up on the email copy.

On the mud flap tip..sounds like a good idea. They sure do hang low. I have been thinking of trimming them up to the fat part of the mud flap. Never had mud flaps on a wheeling rig before.

Agree 100%

Russ' Ridge was the perimeter road and is moderate, can be hard in the wet if you have a bigger rig like an FJC or 80 and care about body damage. The new perimeter (at least on the NW side) is called "Everything Sucks" or trail 8, and is a winch-fest even for the buggies. Don't take a wrong turn :)

Easy Street is not easy. You can do it with a full bodied rig but only if you don't care about the body. You will need to be heavily modified if you don't want to winch over everything (lockers, 35+). Elm Street is even worse. The other two trails to avoid if you have body panels are the bunghole and the taint.

A lot depends on how wet things are. I was there last weekend and it was fairly dry, so it is a bit easier than normal in general. In the wet, you have to be careful even on the easy trails or you will slide into trees.

Attached is the latest Gretchen's map.

Ya, I looked at the map and it was definitely Russ's ridge.

I don't take my big ass 80 back there so I don't know the trail network that well.

I wouldn't take a nice 80 out there either, although a few people do :)

It is worth taking a walk out there even if you don't care to wheel it.

On second thought. Scotty let me borrow your 80 and show you how it's done.
