well I guess it needs a new paint job is an understatement.

I lent my guide my beloved GREEN to escort the ATV's on a trip while I did some welding on the equipment shed. 90 minutes later I get a faint fone call GREEN is on its side he needs help but cannot tell me exactly where he it.

I rung a friend who I saw earlier in the day on his enduro - mate can you go down this dirt road and see if you can find GREEN. He said yup just loaded the bike on the pickup will unlaod and search.
60 minutes later he turns up.

"I found it - you do not want to see it for maybe 2-3 weeks or maybe never".

Then I went down and found it. I nearly cried it was totally totalled. It apparently ROLLED over doing 20k an hour onto its roof when the brakes did not work and then after 30 minutes they put it back on its sneakers only for it to run down the hill BACKWARDS and smash into a TREE. I asked how and got a stupid answer :( . Damage totaled body, XD9000 WInch split in two. Only 2 windows left intact. All this 200k away from HOME :( . The customers on the ATV's returned back safely

So I parked it up for 5 months while I saved up for a new BODY.

This is what I got (this is on the trailer months later) sitting outside the shop before the body is removed.

3 weeks later its back in the shop all repaired only new winch plate and bull bar to be installed and the SPARE 8274 I had sitting at home which I bought for a bargin ready to be built into a TWIN MOTOR gigglepin is being stuck straight in with no upgrades. The workshop did a great job even changed the alloy door panels over for me. New engine mounts and gearbox mounts installed as all ripped when it flipped over.

I will post more pics when it is finished and then when it gets a new paint job.

Cost is not a lot
$2500 new body
$4000 to fit new body and repair the chassis damage at rear.
New bar no idea yet.

So for USD$2000 its all up and runnign again. JUst need to paint it GREEN again.

This is how it looked tuesday nite after the engine mounts had been replaced.

2500rm (or 833USD) is not a bad price for a body. Is it from one of the local units or a JDM import?

I note the Safari snorkel remained intact!!

Safari snorkle survived and it is not looking healthy :(

Local body - almost totally clean a few bumps and dents but its very good condition.

Totally happy with the job.

8274 is being fitted today and bumper fitted. ALl has to be ready next wednesday.

I heard an actual JDM body is almost impossible to get these days, as well as being quite pricey.

Hello Cicak,

Sorry to hear what happened to green. Grandma used to say: "you lend it, you lose it." I guess we expect other to treat our Cruiser as carefully as we do...

Good thing you got a replacement body.

Juan

You could have left it "as is" and just put your short friends on the left side and your taller friends on the right side. :D

Right good idea but blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wrong idea hahaha.

Well after a week of no action suddenly they sprung into action and the winch PLATE is done and the plate is bolted to the chassis and the bar is being done. 3 other vehicles also which have been there LONG TIME (3+ months) are suddenly being finished. I asked WHY the sudden action and was told quietly the BOSS"S piece of CRAP bashed up LC II is getting a new body (ordered to by road transport (JPJ) hahaha) and new VOLVO portal axles so every truck needs to be finished to get the income to cover the DEADLINE they have to finish the bosses truck.

They say GREEN will be ready next week. WInch fittend and new front BAR and side rails and extended SIDESTEPS and rims offset.

barwork done almost finished

The front bar is done, 8274 winch mounted . The shop likes the LIGHT and strong bar - I suspect it will be copied soon on other 4x4's here. It also follows the contours of the LC II well.

Maybe next week be ready to drive. Only the rear bar to be done and thats next month.

Next issue is GREEN is now BLUE again that will be corrrected when the Volvo is completed. Finally after 8 months its back on the road.
