I want to say thank you to Edwin and his crew over at Land Cruiser Specialist in Austin, Tx. I brought my 78 FJ40 to them to rebuild the front axles. They found out that the former owner of my FJ had jacked up the steering so a simple seal and bearing job turned into a complete steering rebuild. Also while testing it out they suggested replacing my thermostat since it was running hot while at idle. Sure enough it was literally in 3 pieces. The FJ is now in great shape, turns like new and runs at a constant temp. Thanks again.

Here is my '78 FJ40. I spent this morning reinstalling the OEM fuel pump and filter. The previous owner found it easer to install a electric pump and POS filter that looked like it came off a lawn mower. The retro fit looked way to sketchy to leave it. They left the old mechanical pump installed and cut the hard line going to the carb. So I removed the old pump (no spacer), cleaned up the area and installed the new (www.sor.com) pump with a new gasket and bolts. I splicer a new 5/16" rubber hose between the carb hard line and the new mech pump. Then new hoses to the filter and finally to the hard line going back to the tank. It took only about 2 hours. It started right up and runs great. I believe it runs better that it did with the electric pump. I will get some pics of the finished product in the morning.

Next project fixing the Vintage AC (www.vintageair.com). The pump has too much oil and a leak in the cab. I ordered a new set of AC gauges and a vacuum pump.
