Anyone ever bought from this site?

no, but curious. I have looked in there before. I think you bid, then when auction ends, you have to be there to pick it up. I really doubt the good ole US govt will ship anything. Anyone????

Yes, that's how I got my M461 2 years ago from the very same auction firm but not MaryLand, its at Marine Base at San Diego, right next to the salty Pacific Ocean. Unlike this recent photos, I somehow can't see any rusts on the "block" of 20 M416 for auctions at Marine base.

So I picked the top five M416 (based on least rust and warped conditions) then I won one of it. To my dismay upon arrival, all of the 20 M416 were painted with fresh white coating only few months ago, covering up all the rust underneath.

So I had to sand blasted and welding (too many hours) to restore it back to acceptable condition but I know it will serve a long useful life. :)

Cheers,
Jay

Leave it to the US Government to cover everything up!

The US Defense Dept used to sell surplus gear and equipment directly through the Defense Reutilization Marketing Organization (DRMO). The DoD subcontracted this function to a civilian company called Government Liquidation.

Govt Liquidation sells all of this stuff through its website, governmentliquidation.com. The format is similar to e-bay. You must register to bid. You can place a maximum bid and they will up your bid automatically to that amount.

There is a search function where you can look for specific items, specific categories (such as trailers or trucks). The items up for sale are at US military bases all over the country. You can set up the search for only bases in your area.

You can visit the base and do a visual inspection of the item only on designated days or you can bid sight unseen.

If you win the item there is a designated time in which you must remove it from the base. The Govt Liquidation website lists recommended freight companies who will load and deliver the item to you if you cannot pick it up yourself.

NOTE: If you buy any rolling stock (trailers, trucks, etc.) be sure to tell Govt Liquidation in advance of the pickup that you want a form SF-97 for the vehicle. The SF-97 transfers the title from the government to you. Without an SF-97 you will play hell getting the unit titled and licensed by your state.

Bottom line is that Government Liquidation is a legitimate outfit and they do sell honest government surplus.

The website is user friendly but there is a lot of info there like how to search by NSN (national stock numbers).

You won't believe all of the different things they sell.

I bought a cherry M101A3 3/4 ton trailer from them a few months ago.
