I'm looking for a non-functional 4-speed tranny. Actually, all I need is the case, but the internals would be a nice bonus in case we need to make a shaft or something... Broken gears are fine. Cheap/free is good!!!

This is for my diesel conversion... Instead of machining a divorce plate from scratch, we're looking at chopping off the back of the transmission and doing it that way.

I've got a non-USA 4-speed in great shape sitting around doing nothing, but for some reason, I'm not keen to cut it up. ;)

Hey, I'll trade ya! :D

What is your time frame? I may have one for you.

Timeline is "the sooner, the better." :)

Realistically, the next two weeks, say. Whatcha got, and whatcha want for it?

So are you going with the cruiser tcase or the minitruck tcase?

I am actually rethinking mine.... I am looking at these options with the 300D engine and benz automatic transmission.

1) Convert the TLC tcase to D-style and call it a day. After looking at the 3speed transmission I have I noticed the converion wasnt as simple as using the minitruck tcase. I will have to make a another adapter plate to go over the adapter made from the transmission. This 2nd plate would house the seals an bolt over the adapter plate.

2) Convert the minitruck tcase to D-style and then adapt it over the 3speed tcase. Giving dual tcases.

3) Using the minitruck tcase as D-style and then swapping out the rear axle to center (4runner V6 axle).

4) Orrrrrrrrrrr..... Swapping out the rear axle to center pumpkin and running a modified driveshaft from the rear of the mercedes transmission and using it as a 2x4 until I can decide what I want to do. This would allow us to drive the cruiser around and buy me more time to modify transfercases.

Cruiser tcase, because I already own it.

One way or another, we're gonna divorce that sucker. We're thinking that sawing off the back of a 4-speed transmission will give us what we want, all in one plate. Please disabuse me of this notion if it's wrong! :)

So, anybody got a broken 4-speed tranny they want to get rid of?

only one i've got is a 60 tranny....but if someone gets it outta my garage, they can have it.
