Went out this morning to start the old cruiser up in 9 degree weather and it fired right up. I started thinking about the old FJ40 carbed F and there was no way it was going to start in that cold of weather. That is why I love the 62 series, im sold on fuel injected engines now. If this is chat material please move it.

I would kill for FI right now...last night when I got off work it was about -30 with the windchill, and it took a lot of pumping and 3 tries to get the 85 2f going, and then a bit of playing with the choke to get it to idle at around 1200 RPMs so that I would have heat when I came back out. One of these days I'll get to experience the luxury of FI, it just may be a few years away...

Fuel injection's nice but gotta admit the round head lights look better.

a well tuned 2F with a properly adjusted carb and functioning choke shouldn't be any more or less difficult to start than a FI 3E....

cold is cold....good maintenance = good reliability

a block heater doesn't hurt either ;)

No Way! I had the round head lights, but I love the square head lights. Could have something to do with the over drive and the FI!!

Either way as lond as its a Land Cruiser!

-2 here on the base when I started up at 5:30 in the morning. it was a struggle, but she eventually fired up. I think my battery needs a good long highway run again, because all these short little jaunts around the base are doing alot more bad than good.
