Got me a 40th now..

Well - Michelle now has a new 40th! Got to keep the wife happy! I sold her FJ62 last week, and as luck would have it, I picked this up from another member of the Lone Star Land Cruisers. 170K, and runs great!

I was cleaning it today, and noticed a toggle switch under the dash - I figured it was for the aftermarket alarm. And then realized toggle was broken ..

Then I noticed a mini jack cable on the back floor board. Humm..Ok , next you know, I've got all the trim off, the ashtray out, and dash apart. As it turned out - the PO installed a Audiovox FM modulators wired into the radio.That is what the toggle switch controlled. I dug thru my electrical box and round a red off/on switch and slapped in into one of those blank plates on the dash. Just a great bonus and surprise - made my day.

The Ipod modulator works great - Iam very impressed, I'll just tell Michelle I slaved all day over this.

That looks fantastic! I love the colors and the truck looks like its in great shape. I just bought my first 80 about 5 weeks ago. It's a 97 LX450, dark green. I like it, but I like your color better.

That is the best way to install the FM modulator. I have a model that just transmits an FM signal for the antenna to pick up and the quality is not nearly as good as hard wired FM modulator setups. I will probably attempt something like this when/if the factory CD changer fails -- I hear they are prone to failure.

From your sig, I see you have 2 80's and a 40 -- nice fleet!

I forgot to add this - Jason's (PO) daughter left me a note in the glove box. The truck is named "Frank", and we are going to call her "Frankie" My daughter decided Frank was short for Frankie.

What? we are not supposed to wheel one of these? Most of my miles after 96k are heading to do that or on the trail. My club members lied to me.

Congrats! Nice to see another 40th on mud! I would say it is one hell of a nice looking truck (but my opinion is biased). I like the look of the knob, just may PM you for one.

I haven't seen one, but it would be nice to see how many are out there. I was told my # but don't remember and I have not looked. Too busy playing with it. There are a few here in town, but a couple are not on mud I guess. I have not even put mine in the FJ80 registry.

Nice ride! Looks like it is missing the genuine fake wood trim around the shifter console. I like the floor mats I heard the 40th came with special ones but i have never seen them.
Mine din have them in it when I bought it.
