I think the cup holder is overpriced and if it breaks, then I am screwed, unless I get the 'ole Super glue out! But, being that Slee is the only reseller I have found that sells them, they can command what they want and the consumer must live with it.
A couple things...price and value are 2 different things. I think the value of the cupholder is worth the asking price. You don't currently feel that way -- which is okay.

If you look long and hard enough, you can find the OEM cupholder for less than $53. It's out there -- in fact, I bought 3 of these same cupholders a couple months ago for just under $40. Why 3? 1 was for the wife's LX 450 and the other 2 I thought I could resell to a couple local guys who currently don't have a cupholder installed.

As for it breaking, I've used mine daily for about 3 years and haven't had a problem -- just use common sense and don't load it up with a 5 pound cup and you won't likely have a problem.

As you'll find, OEM stuff isn't necessarily cheap, but it's quality stuff.

Doug,

As I stated above, I decided to purchase it. My point with this thread was to find out my options- all of them- before making a decision. I have only seen these from my monitor, so I do not know the quality and craftsmanship. You also mention value. It is obvious from the people that have replied or PMed me that this is a product that has value, which helped make my decision. Thanks for your input, Doug.

I'll make you one free, but it requires installation by a professional and may require a few small modificunktions if you know what I mean. :flipoff2:

My father gave me his old North Face VE-24 tent. The zipper ripped off so i sent it back to north face. When i recieved it back there was a note in with it along with the fixed zipper stating that this model tent was the original dome tent and it was over 25 years old. THey still fixed it under warranty.
