well, this is the 5th cruiser I have owned and all have had the same problem....
When i hit the brakes, I will hear a little door slam shut and amazingly I have heat. However, the fan must be off when hitting the brakes. if you keep the fan running the heat will stay. If the fan is turned off....... this whole process must be performed again to get the heat back. I know we have all had or still have this problem. Is it a spring loaded door that has failed or something in the piping of the air. Where the hell is this door I hear slamming shut?

Wish I could help you, but of all the problems my cruiser has this isn't one of them. Yeah, weird.

There is a door under the dash behind the heater ducts. It is what the long cold to warm slide on your air contol is connected to. If you follow it down you will find that the long rod that connects to it has come off and is allowing the door to swing back and forth from the take off and stopping force of your truck. Very simple fix.

figured if I dug into it I would figure it out. but I must say it amusing to some folks in the passenger seat. Thanks for the info on how to fix it. sounds simple enough.

Small hands help

I'm screwed then. LOL
sounds like a job for my 10 year old!
