Lots of threads on front bumpers, tops, frames, etc. But I haven't found one about rear bumpers. I removed my bumperettes (with rubber bumpers), rear step, and I'm kind of liking the bare bumper look. What do you/y'all think a rear bumper should look like?

Here's mine - just a bare bumper with tow bar:

They were installed by the PPO I believe. I haven't ever used them and I'm thinking of ditching them for stock bumperettes.

I'll take some photos for you soonest and post em.

Cheers

I'm liking the bare look. I even removed the tow hook.

PO had a piece of angle iron on mine instead of bumperettes. I didn't like it; decided that the Man-A-Fre 4+ bumper was more to my liking and much more functional so I bought one on sale.

This is the the back end of mine. I prefer the uncluttered look.

craigwanderer, can you post some pics on how your recovery points are mounted/attached?

Sorry mate, no can do with the photos. Just broke my ankle getting out of the 40. After crawling to my desk for the phone, I'm waiting for the ambos.

Swifty, you have the same recovery points on yours. Any chance of taking a couple of photos of the mounting points?

Cheers

Nothing to high tech with the recovery points. have held up fine after 5+ years and some decent recoverys. Nothing has moved or bent out of shape yet.

Thanks for that Swifty. Mine has the same setup, but recovery-wise I've only used the towbar because it is more central.

Turns out the ankle isn't broken. The crunching I felt was just tendon damage lol. I should be back on both feet in a couple of weeks.

Nice one CruiserStuff! Love the kiddo helpin out Dad....just don't have them 'test-start' the truck in-gear ! :)

Lesson learned well the first time - can't believe there was actually a first time to that lesson for me!!
