got a problem

on my 88 fj62.when its cold or at least for a mile or so it s got a real bad miss.she really talks to me .anyway letting it idle for a few minutes seems to help also.after all of this its alot better but still lacking its full running power.new fuel pump,fuel filter,all hoses have been checked,wires,plugs.the normal stuff.new coil also.if i were to guess fuel pressure reg.but whats the normal that usually goes first on these rigs.going this route first rather than spending a bundle of money first thanks guys .chris

Run the codes then pull/clean the cold start injector, ICS and cold start temp sensor.

i have not run the codes yet but the cold injecter how do i clean that. i put air on it and in it nothing out the other side.am i supposed to do anything other than this to the cold injecter.ics can get some more detailed info on this what to i clean on ics.and oh yea the check en.light is not on but there is something wired going on inside the intake . when im under the hood giving it gas im hearing and feelling a knock in the intake around that butterfly assembly(throttle ass.) then when that goes away the ride is a whole lot better.the fuel pressure reading 38 with the vaccum and jumping up to 42 or so when giving it gas .compression is the same all around.to plugs did not look so good 1 and 2 changed out.changed coil.should i change the ig.assembly? wires and all are toy. new cap and roter.sorry if im running on but anybody have any advise thanks much chris

noticed tonight that i little backfire also.and i most add that this rig will also do it on a restart also not just when its cold

all pvc lines are ok but is there any smog experts out there? pulled the charcoal caniter hose going to the intake rpm jumped up alittle seemed to run better so i just blocked it off. runs just a tad bit better

if you block that off, emmisions will suffer.
and its possible fuel will be forced out. i dont reccomend doing that.

you know, a temperature sensor could be telling yer ECU that its hot, when its really not. Causing it to run in 'hot' mode, when it shoudnt.

have you pulled the codes, yet?
does it have vacuum advance timing, mechanical, or electrical?

hopefully its electrical, cuz that may exempt that as a problem.

check the codes before you do anything else!!!!

use a paper clip for the jumper wire. the directions and codes are in the manual that comes with the cruiser. if you don have one, i am sure sombody can post the codes.

yea wtf is the roundish senser as your facing your cruiser.its in front of the throttle pos. senser.almost looks like some kind of solonid i unpluged it while it was running and it made no difference

just giving a update welll have not run the codes yet.being hurt its a bit hard to focus.but the temp. senser is fine.unpluged it and the car would hardley start.the big thing is i unpluged the throtle pos. senser it did not make a dam bit of difference.might have something to do with one of my other posts im hearing a knock in the or around the throttle when im rev.it under the hood when its cold or on a restart.what do you guys think.of course when i can get my buddy to do it i will get him to run the codes.thanks much chris
