Gents,
Thanks you for the inquries and excitement regarding this FJ40. It is going to a good home with a knowledgeable buyer who will no doubt keep it up and running better than the degree to which I was able.

Best Regards,
Brad

The dominoes have tumbled.....

Some one is grinning today!

And that somebody is me

I am the one who is grinning today, as Brad and I struck a deal last night. I guess I can't call it "Bill's Truck" anymore, I'll have to start calling it my truck. Sort of a funny homecoming, as Bill lived in my house for a while when he first started working in MA but hadn't brought his family up from CT.

And if you haven't figured it out yet, the 40 that jsaltlick just got is mine. I have traded gorgeous and unmolested sheetmetal for a bunch of very sweet mods and fancy doo dads. We'll see if i am genius or a dope.

Oh, and John better straighten out the sig line though...it is a 72, not a 71. And it even has a name, Woody. I hope all this talk of "flipping" and "pancakes" isn't gonna bear out on my beloved (now former) truck and make me regret selling it to that slimeball used car dealer ;)

So, by my count this is my 7th cruiser, if you count the '76 I co-owned with Nick (now rebuilt for Mike Gavin the PO of the 72 I just sold John) and the '71 we rescued from VT and that went to Chris Pals. Here's to it being "lucky number 7". Even with that track record, I remain the perpetual newbie.

Congrats Dave! Great news and I look forward to seeing it parked next door.

I'm trying to talk/pressure/intimidate Flipper into keeping it for a long time as it's a great truck.

Nothing and no one can stop me!!!!!

Well maybe the fact I'm not importing anymore, a kid, a wife, another kid on the way, an insanely busy job......yeah, maybe I will keep this one for a few weeks!

And I agree, I am a slimeball.

Fine, make fun of the name, slimeball...but here is where it came from. I was cleaning it after my purchase, and found lots of very weird stuff. I suppose that is true of many cruisers. I was just about done, when I found a little enameled ornament of Woody Woodpecker in the way back of the glove box. I figured it was a sign and put a little wire thru the eyelet and hung it off the wiper control rods. I later learned that it was a gift to Mike from some nut-job girlfriend and he would have chucked it!
