Anyone know of a good installer that is familiar with LCs in San Diego? I need to have my windshield removed and reinstalled properly as I am getting some wind noise and water ingress from the PS A-pillar area. I park in the garage and generally don't drive in the rain so it hasn't been much of an issue until recently. The PO had the windshield replaced at DCH Toyota in Torrance using OEM glass (which is in good condition), but the install quality was lacking.
After reading a few threads here and the FSM pdf that RobRed posted, I went out to inspect my truck. I peeled back the inner strip from the side trim pieces and discovered there were no rivets. Could missing rivets cause noticeable wind noise and water ingress? Both sides are missing the rivets but only the PS is making noise/leaking.
I called the local Safelite, and they won't touch it unless they replace the glass. I also called a local Toyota dealer recommended installer and he said there is a good chance the windshield will crack when removing (is this true?) Best case is the glass install is OK and I just need to have the trim reinstalled properly, but the glass may need to be done as well, not sure. I am hoping the former.
Thanks in advance for any insight or recommendation.
